DOR --- FAME, Malad ...Where Else???? :) CAST:
Meera: Ayesha Takia (4/5) - Sweet Little Girl... Huge tragedy... All hope lost... Finally takes the "imman di Chhalaang",
Zeenat: Gul panag (4/5) - Strong Mature Lady... Everything at stake... Lives on Hope... Torchbearer,
And Behroopiya: Shreyas talpade (5/5) - Affable Cute fella... Entertainment Values are there.
Music: Salim Merchant (???) A couple of good songs... My Favorite: Kajra Re!!
Comedy: Lots of it.. Subtle and Simple.
Director: Nagesh Kukunoor - Best directorial effort so far from this hyderabadi... Though I liked "Teen Deewarein" in the story department.
The Movie: I thought DOR would be a painful, Tragic, "Arty" Flick... It is all that... and much more. A simple story, well told. Great Cinematography and a Slick Script. Intelligently written Lines. Superb performances. If you are fan of the Old School narration( I am one), where Characters repeat each others' lines in a completely different Scene and setup to make you smile, where characters are defined by a strong sense of conviction, and where you are almost afraid of a tragic ending because you fall in love with the characters, then watch it!!!
Meera:"Tum kahan se ho? " Zeenat: "Himachal Pradesh" M: "Bahut Khoobsurat hain na tumhara des?" Z: "Haan... Yeh Registhan ki tarah... Khoobsurat , lekin Alag."
~We all have experienced the feeling "Run for the Door" inside the movie hall when the movie gets really pakaao... Well, this one makes u say "Run for the DOR" after one comes out of the movie ~~"Windows improved version anukunna DOR ante :P " ~~~Enough of Pun for the week. |
