    DOR : The Re-Review
As I had written in my previous post, I loved the movie. So I did what any movie lover - with nothing to do at home - would have done. I watched it again. And now, I am doing what any movie lover - with nothing to do at office - would be doing. I am re-reviewing it.

I have to mention one incident here.
I am not a great fan of the phenomenon called black market. Some say it is just a way you pay for not being there early enough. Some say it is just supply- demand dynamics. Some confer the title "commerce" to it. It is illegal for god's sake!!! You shouldn't be doing it, period.

Then I had a discussion (in fact, it was tending towards an argument as time tended towards 30 seconds) with a "partly enlightened" friend. The first sentence was "leave the ethical issues aside".

It is amazing how we were discussing the expected value of the movie and how it made more (economic) sense to buy the ticket now (even if it was illegal) than to come back for another show. "Leave the ethical issues aside", remember? If even a meagre amount like INR 10 (US$ 0.25) can help you resolve your ethical dilemmas, then imagine what a few more zeroes could do!! Don't even get me started if what is at stake is beyond material benefits (One's life, may be?). Anyways, like many other confrontations with my P.E. friend, this too ended like this. "It is not that easy actually. It is a lot fuzzy than we thought. It is not always black or white".

Come on!! It is a black ticket!! It is supposed to be black.

So Keynes, Buffett and common sense prevailed over mindless ethics and I had a cheese filled sandwich. I "grew up" and decided to enjoy the movie.

This time, I was with friends from the firm. And their friends.
It was a shady little cinema stuck up the backside of the Shoppers' Stop in Bandra.

    The Re-Review Begins Here.

Firstly, I must admit to one fact. The movie was entertaining - again. I enjoyed the dialogues better and I realised that I missed a few metaphors and symbolisms that the director had concoted. It was a real good feeling. But this time, I was neither gripped by the storytelling nor was I intrigued by the suspense. I had a good time making fun of supposedly sentimental, emotional and inspirational lines and scenes. I did this at the expense of a few strangers, but it was worth it.

My friends were in no mood to take that inspirational stuff, and were giving me good company. We came up with a few questions that seemed to be a bit cynical but logical nevertheless.

Why didn't Zeenat put an ad in the local newspapers of Rajasthan? Lack of funds, Perhaps, You may say.

Why didn't Zeenat go to AajTak or StarNews? They would have jumped at the opportunity to present an exciting and entertaining tale. This would have topped the charts like "the little boy who fell in the well". It may have even surpassed the one with "the Car without a Driver". It could have brought Indian housewives to the news channels away from the Kerials and Koaps. Why didn't she? Why? No contacts in the TV world, you may say.

And finally, why didn't Zeenat just forge Meera's signature? Why?? Leave the ethical issues aside and tell me. Why??
